In my 35 years in the financial services business - including 26 as managing partner for the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network following my NFL days with the Detroit Lions - I have seen lots of stuff cross my desk. If the current and former players read [and] study the magazine, it could very possibly help them tremendously in their lives. For six years I was a main platform speaker at the NFL Rookie Symposium, speaking to many teams about money, performance and life. Today's current and former professional athletes have many challenges. I encourage athletes to work harder on themselves than they work on their job;that's the key to really achieving in life. If they work hard on their job they will make a living; if they work hard on themselves, they will make a fortune. Thanks for helping them make a fortune.
